Master the art of the heirloom sock in our community’s most beloved monthly gathering! Whether you are a “sock-addict” or a complete newbie, this club is designed to guide you through the construction of cozy, hand-knit socks that actually fit your unique feet. You’ll conquer the “Big Win” of sock architecture—navigating tricky heels, gussets, and toe shaping with ease. You will leave each session with advanced techniques for your knitting repertoire and the confidence to explore a world of self-striping, patterned, and hand-dyed yarns to create a handmade sock wardrobe that lasts a lifetime.
What You Will Learn
- Anatomy of a Sock: Understanding the structural differences between cuff-down and toe-up construction to find your preferred method.
- Precision Fitting: Mastering the math and measuring techniques required to ensure your socks never slouch or pinch.
- Heel & Gusset Mastery: Learning various heel types (flap and gusset, short-row, or after-thought) to conquer the most technical part of the project.
- Specialized Stitch Work: Navigating the wonderful world of self-striping and colour-changing yarns to maximize visual impact.
- Finishing Techniques: Learning seamless toe closures and stretchy bind-offs for a professional, comfortable result.

- Skill Level: All Levels Welcome. If you can knit and purl in the round, you can join this club! We welcome both seasoned “sock-aholics” and those ready to cast on their very first pair.
Special Information & Preparation
- Subscription Model: Membership is $10/month, conveniently billed in three-month segments ($30 total per segment).
- Pre-Class Prep: Bring your current sock project or come ready to start a new one! We recommend having a set of double-pointed needles or a long circular needle (for Magic Loop) ready to go.
