Color Description
This color is a very deep, rich, and highly saturated black, named after the shiny, dark delicacy. It is a fundamental neutral in the AGF Pure Solids line.
Hue: It is a true, saturated Black. Unlike some black fabrics that can appear faded or have a blue/brown cast, Caviar is specifically formulated (often double dip-dyed) to achieve maximum darkness and color depth.
Tone: It is deep in value and serves as the darkest contrast color in the entire collection.
Aesthetic: Caviar provides maximum contrast for piecing and is a go-to choice for sophisticated, dramatic, and modern projects. It makes bright colors pop, gives depth to neutrals, and acts as the perfect grounding color in any quilt or garment. AGF often offers “Deep Black” (PE-499) as an alternative, but Caviar is one of their original, most popular true black solids.
