Ash is a versatile, essential grey that anchors a color palette without being overly dark or warm.
Hue: A Classic Grey. It is described as a “perfect neutral grey” and a “lovely gray colour.” Unlike greys with strong blue or brown undertones, Ash appears to be a very pure, mid-value grey. It is cool-toned but not icy, offering a sophisticated and clean alternative to black and white.
Tone/Value: It is a medium shade of grey. It is dark enough to provide contrast to light colors like Snow (PE-433) and light enough to offer a soft background for darker, more vibrant shades. It is slightly darker than Light Grey (PE-419) and generally lighter than Mystic Grey (PE-431).
