Description
Malabrigo Rios is a worsted-weight superwash merino yarn. It has 4 plies and an even, round twist that knits up with a beautifully balanced stitch definition. (If you’ve been having trouble making your 1×1 ribbing look even, it’s not you! It’s the yarn. Rios will solve that problem for you.)
Rios is hand dyed in relatively small batches, and the depth of colours will make your garments look luscious. It’s soft and strong — perfect for wearing next to the skin.
Projects we love using Malabrigo Rios for are sweaters, cowls, hats, mittens, blankets, scarves, and shawls. It’s a wonderful workhorse yarn that makes every project look special. It is excellent in knitting projects and crochet projects.

- 18 – 22 sts = 4 inches / 10 cm (worsted weight)
- Suggested needle sizes to achieve above gauge: 7 – 9 US or 4.5 – 5.5 mm
Care Instructions: Machine washable in cold water, gentle cycle. Do not tumble dry. Dry flat.
The colours may have slight variations from skein to skein; we recommend buying the same dye lot, if possible, and alternating skeins every round or every 2 rows when making larger projects.
The yarn may contain traces of dye from hand dyeing, particularly in darker colours. Plan your colourwork projects with this in mind; pre-wash gently with a colour catcher or vinegar in the water to remove excess dye.
