The SWIV 360 has a special feature that sets it apart from the Red Cables — the sockets swivel! This is ideal for knitters who find that their knitting motions, for whatever reason, add twist and cause their needles to either unscrew more often or twirl around into awkward positions. The freely swiveling motion of the sockets prevents all those problems.
ChiaoGoo Twist Interchangeable knitting needle tips come with three sizes of screw fasteners — Mini (M), Small (S), and Large (L). These screw sizes correspond to the cords’ screw sizes, so make sure you order the correct screw size for your needle tips, or get an adapter.

Cord Lengths — What Size Should You Choose?
ChiaoGoo SWIV 360 Silver Cables come in 8″ / 20 cm, 14″ / 35 cm, 22″ / 55 cm, and 30″ / 75 cm lengths.
Each of the lengths comes with a mini (M), small (S), or large (L) screw socket, so make sure you order the size that corresponds to your needle tips!
ChiaoGoo Twists come in needle lengths of 3″, 4″, and 5″. We recommend using the short tips (3 – 4″) for small circles (16″ or less), and the longer tips for larger circles.
To calculate the total length of your circular needles, add the needle length (x2) to the cord length.
Ex: 4″ + 4″ (needles) + 8″ (cord) = 16″ circular needle
Ex: 5″ + 5″ (needles) + 22″ (cord) = 32″ circular needle
Instructions
There are little keys that come with either the needle tips or the cords. Use the key to make sure the screws are attached securely! Insert the key into the small hole in the cable socket, then use it as leverage while you tighten the needle tip. We “turn” the tip at least 3-5 times after it seems fully screwed in.
It’s normal for the tips to eventually loosen, especially if your knitting motions include some twist that unknowingly rotates the needles in a loosening direction, but they should remain tightly secured for at least a few big projects.
Use the key! Otherwise, you’ll be re-tightening the screws all the time.
Be careful that you’re only tightening the metal parts. Don’t hold onto the red part of the cable while twisting, or you’ll loosen the glue that holds the cable parts together over time.
Are ChiaoGoo needles and cables interchangeable with other brands?
No, they’re not. The screws are on the needle tips, and the sockets are attached to the cords/cables, which is the opposite of most other brands. Also, the ChiaoGoos have different-sized screws and sockets depending on the needle tip size, so the transitions are super smooth and your stitches should never catch at the joins.
