Single-ply yarn has a soft, velvety texture that’s particularly luscious, but it isn’t appropriate for socks or gloves because more plies equals more strength. Why bother using it then? Because it feels absolutely amazing and makes light and airy shawls and wraps that feel like getting a hug from a cloud.
