What You Will Learn
If you are a confident beginner quilter, or somebody who just loves to quilt and enjoys seeing colours come together, this one is a must for you! Various skills will be learned and put to use.
- How to make and trim flying geese in a couple of different ways
- Perfecting precise cutting using a rotary cutter and acrylic rulers
- Piecing and sewing a scant ¼” seam allowance to ensure that blocks line up perfectly without losing their points
- How to assemble a quilt-top – understand how to use “sashing” to frame your blocks and create a cohesive design
- Basting and quilting – learn how to create a “quilt sandwich” (top, batting, and back) and secure it using safety pins or spray adhesive before sewing the layers together
- Binding – The final step of folding and stitching fabric strips around the raw edges of the quilt to give it a professional, durable finish.
