Join Maker Savvy for our third Murder Mystery Knit Along.   We are super pleased to have Amanda Schwabe working with us again, and Amanda is also designing the shawl pattern. Knit together, get the next clue, read the next chapter, learn new techniques, and get tips and tricks from the pattern designer, Amanda Schwabe. Six clues ~ Six colours ~ Six weeks

When do I find out the next clue?

Knit with us over the course of 6 weeks on Tuesdays, and get the clues needed to solve the mystery!

FAQ’s

What is it?

We’ll be knitting a shawl in six steps. You’ll receive one “clue” each week containing the next part of the pattern.

What will the shawl pattern look like?

It’s a mystery! But here are a few hints: Texture, movement, direction, drape.

Can I expect this year’s shawl to be similar to last year’s?

Not at all. Expect something completely different. We don’t want to bore you, after all!

Do I have to use Koigu?

No, you can use any fingering-weight yarn you like.

Can I use all KPM or more KPPPM?

Feel free to switch things up if you’re feeling adventurous. This pattern will play well with those variegated yarns, but keeping the MC as a solid that supports all the KPPPMs will be beneficial.

Can I use yarn from my stash?

Of course! This could be a good stashbuster pattern if you have little collections that could combine to replace each of the KPPPMs. Use a solid MC to pull them all together.

  • Murdery Mystery pattern clues for shawl
  • Cast-on Party at The Tap Room
  • The remaining 5 in-class sessions for mystery clues and instruction
Registration does not include yarn kits, needles, or other knitting accessories to complete your shawl.

Suggested yarn: Koigu KPM & KPPPM (50g/175yds/160m per skein) Six-Colour Version (Recommended to go with the story)
    • Main Colour: 3 skeins KPM (150g)
    • Colour Pop: 1 skein KPM
    • Colour Pop or contrast: 1 skein KPM or KPPPM
    • Colour Blend 1: 1 skein KPPPM
    • Colour Blend 2: 1 skein KPPPM
    • Colour Blend 3: 1 skein KPPPM
Three-Colour Version
    • Main Colour: 3 skeins KPM
    • Secondary Main Colour: 3 skeins KPPPM
    • Contrast Colour: 2 skeins KPM or KPPPM
Two-Colour Version
    • Main Colour: 4 skeins KPM
    • Contrast Colour: 4 skeins KPPPM
