Have you been wishing you knew how to knit? Or, have you learned a few basic things but still feel like you don’t understand what you’re doing, and you keep getting stuck?

This introduction to knitting will teach you all the essential first techniques you’ll need to build a strong foundation for many future knitting projects. You’ll learn the basic knit and purl stitches, and then we’ll build incrementally on those skills and knit a few common stitch patterns.

Early Afternoon Session: 2:00pm – 4:00pm

Evening Session: 6:00pm – 8:00pm

Throughout the class, you’ll learn how to recognize and fix common mistakes, how to read a knitting pattern and simple chart, how to start and end a project, and even how to sew knitted pieces together invisibly. You’ll also get to learn the underlying structure of the knitted fabric so your projects will seem less like mystery spaghetti and more like a grid that you can control.

Your instructor, Amanda Schwabe, has been knitting continuously for 25+ years, teaching knitting for more than 10, and designing knitting patterns for 16+ years. Her classes are relaxed, fun, and welcoming. You can find her on Instagram and Ravelry @aknitica
