This knitting technique can be used to create visually striking, extra-squishy, two-colour ribbing. We’ll make a cozy cowl that’s the perfect size for Ottawa winters, and you’ll learn the essential brioche knit and purl stitches, with a focus on understanding what’s happening so you’ll be able to fix any mistakes.

The cowl features a twist pattern that looks like complicated cables but is made from simple increases and decreases. That way, you’ll get to try out some basic increases and decreases with a teacher at your side. Afterward, you’ll be prepared for following a brioche pattern on your own. And you’ll have a reversible, impressive new neckwarmer.

This class is taught by Amanda Schwabe, who loves fixing mistakes and designing brioche patterns. She has been teaching knitting for about 10 years and designing knitting patterns even longer.
