Learn the new Aknitica sock heel method from the designer herself! These heels are logical, repeatable, and memorizable — as any good heel should be — and you may find yourself using them in all sorts of sock projects. Learn the basic shape and how it works so you can make it your own with modifications for size, fit, and texture.

- The aknitica heel method: How it works, how it fits, and how you can customize it
- Double stitches: How to work German short rows
- LLI and RLI: How to increase using Left-Leaning Increase and Right-Leaning Increase methods — a fun technique that makes your increases look a lot like decreases when turned upside down.
- Eye of Partridge and corrugated slip stitches: How to make your heels cushy and strong using slip-stitch patterns, and how to recognize your stitches so you don’t lose your place.
- Reading knitting charts: These sock heels include charted instructions! Learn to use this visual map for easier pattern recognition.

- If you can knit in the round, you can knit socks. Some previous sock experience would help you understand the underlying shapes that we’ll be talking about, but you can also knit these sock heels without having previously knit socks.
- Instructor & Qualifications:
- Amanda Schwabe has been designing weird knitted shapes and teaching knitting classes for over a decade. Her textile art has a permanent home at the Canadian War Museum (Pom-Pom the Horse, featured in the World War Women exhibit a few years ago), and her sculptural techniques have now translated into new ways to knit sock heels, found in The Heels for Days Sock Club collection of patterns on Ravelry.
