Introduction to Mosaic Crochet – The Mountain Trail Cowl

March 16 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Event Series (See All)
$60

Mosaic crochet is a colorwork technique used to create intricate graphic patterns using only one colour per row, and alternating colours every 1-2 rows.  Designs are created by placing stitches in created spaces to make an overlay of the colours.  This type of stitching adds colour movement as well as great texture to your piece.

At the end of this class, you will create a beautiful cowl to wear inside or outside your coat or jacket.

What You Will Learn

In the Introduction to Mosaic Crochet you will learn:

      1. Working with different colours, one at a time, and carrying additional colour up the row.
      2. Creating spaces for ‘filler’ stitches.
      3. Making a stitch in a space and/or in a row below to create texture.
      4. Making an outside seam to close up and create a different shape to your piece.
      5. “Trapping” your ends and yarn carries to avoid weaving in ends.
