SUMMARY:Knit the Perfect Summer Tee
DESCRIPTION:Knit the Perfect Summer Tee\n\nDescription \nKnit the perfect summer tee with us! The Quotidian Tee by Kerri Blumer is our current favourite — an elevated basic tee pattern with four silhouette options\, extensive sizing\, and just-right detailing. You’ll learn how to achieve your ideal fit using skills that will carry forward to future sweater projects. At the end of the class\, you’ll have a flattering tee to wear that will fit easily into your multi-season wardrobe. \n\nWhat You Will Learn\n\n\n\n\n\nSweater Fitting: Learn which body measurements are essential to taking control of your sweater fitting and how to measure them accurately.\nSweater Customization: We’ll take that measurement info and use it to assess the knitting pattern’s schematic to decide which size (or combination of sizes) will give your ideal fit. Then we’ll decide if more customizations\, like bust darts\, will be useful.\nPattern-Reading Tricks: Learn a few ways to organize a pattern’s “AT THE SAME TIME” instructions and choose your favourite system.\nBottom-Up Sweater Construction: The Quotidian Tee is knit in the round from the bottom up\, then divided at the armholes and V-neck opening and knit flat in sections to the shoulders.\nThree-Needle Bind Off: A no-sew method to join the shoulder seams.\nTop-Down Set-In Sleeves: Learn to pick up and knit with no gaps\, then use short rows to shape the sleeve caps. This pattern includes instructions for short\, elbow-\, and full-length sleeves!\nKnitting Techniques: Twisted stitches\, maintaining even tension when changing from in-the-round knitting to flat knitting\, short rows\, picking up and knitting\, Three-Needle Bind Off\n\n\n\n\n\n\nClass Details\n\n\n\n\n\nDate & Time: \n\nMay 19th\, June 16th\, 23rd\, and 30th\, 2026\n2 time slots\n\n@2:00-4:00pm\n@6:00-8:00pm\n\n\n\n\nLocation:\n\nMaker Savvy Classroom\n\n\nSkill Level: Intermediate\n\nIf you’re comfortable with basic knitting techniques (like knit\, purl\, increase\, decrease)\, then you can make this tee.\n\n\nInstructor & Qualifications:\n\nAmanda Schwabe is a knitwear designer and teacher with who has knit\, unknit\, reknit\, and custom knit a lot of sweaters. She can help you fix any mistake and calculate a sweater from scratch.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSpecial Information & Preparation\n\nPre-Class Prep: Download Kerri Blumer’s free Quotidian Tee Project Planner and choose a tee silhouette to determine how much yarn you’ll need. Have your yarn wound and ready for knitting.\nWhat’s Included in Registration:\n\nPattern: Quotidian Tee by Kerry Blumer\nAdditional Materials: Sweater Fitting Worksheet by Amanda Schwabe\n\n\n\nRegister Here

SUMMARY:Introduction to Freeform Crochet: Improv Summer Wrap
DESCRIPTION:Description \nFreeform crochet is a pattern-free\, artistic technique where crochet stitches are used spontaneously to create 2D or 3D fabric\, often described as “painting with yarn” or “taking your yarn for a walk”. It involves mixing colours\, textures\, and varied techniques—sometimes combined with knitting or other fibre arts—without following traditional rules\, patterns\, or counting.  In this class\, we will use a pattern for a summer wrap as inspiration and then create colour mixes and textures. \n\nWhat You Will Learn\n\n\n\n\n\nFoundation Row:  create your starting chain and first row of stitches together.  Can also be used to send your work in a different direction.\nShort Rows:  create different shapes and areas of concentrated colour in the middle of your work.\nAlternate stitch definition: Create different looks for your stitches by placing your hook in a different starting point.\n3D Texture:  create raised textures and add colour to other areas by creating your stitch over multiple rows\n\n\n\n\n\n\nClass Details\n\n\n\n\n\nDate & Time: \n\nMay 20th\, 2026 |\n2 time slots\n\n @2:00-4:00pm\n@6:00-8:00pm\n\n\n\n\nLocation:\n\nMaker Savvy Classroom\n\n\nSkill Level: Confident Beginner\, Intermediate\, Advanced\nInstructor & Qualifications:\n\nJoin Wendy and learn new ways to crochet.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSpecial Information & Preparation\n\nAt least 4 colours of light worsted to worsted weight yarn and at least 300 meters.  The more colours\, the more variety.\n5mm crochet hook.\nWhat’s Included in Registration:\n\nInspiration Pattern is included with your registration\n\n\n\nRegister Here

SUMMARY:Entrelac Candy Mittens
DESCRIPTION:Description \nLearn the entrelac knitting technique and make these sweet mittens in tiny bite-sized pieces. Entrelac is a wonderful way to knit small\, joined sections that work up into a textural\, woven look. It’s great for stashbusting\, self-striping yarns\, gradients cakes\, and colour play. As a side bonus\, you’ll learn how to “knit back” — knitting in the opposite direction so you’ll never have to turn your work — a useful technique for knitting any small section when it’s better to see it from the right side on every row. \n\nWhat You Will Learn\n\n\n\n\n\nThe entrelac technique: Make a knit fabric that resembles a basketweave but is actually made from small squares\, picked up and knit from the squares below.\nShaping within entrelac: How to increase and decrease while maintaining the entrelac pattern evenly.\nMaking a thumb hole in an entrelac mitten: How and wear to make a hole that keeps the entrelac pattern going but sets you up to knit a thumb later.\nEntrelac knitting in the round (versus entrelac knitting flat\, like you’d do for a scarf): how to switch from flat to in-the-round knitting with entrelac.\nKnitting back: Learning to knit in the opposite direction instead of turning and purling the work.\nHow to keep track of entrelac rows and tiers: Tips and tricks for finding your landmarks so you don’t lose your place.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nClass Details\n\n\n\n\n\nDate & Time: \n\nMay 26th\, June 2nd\, and 9th\, 2026\n2 time slots\n\n@2:00-4:00pm\n@6:00-8:00pm\n\n\n\n\nLocation:\n\nMaker Savvy Classroom\n\n\nSkill Level: Intermediate\n\nIf you’re comfortable with basic knitting techniques and interested in adding new skills\, this class is for you\n\n\nInstructor & Qualifications:\n\nAmanda Schwabe has been teaching knitting classes for over a decade and designing knitting patterns for even longer. She focuses on teaching you the skills you’ll need to take charge of your own knitting — recognizing and fixing mistakes\, looking for patterns that link techniques\, and learning how to modify and shift knitting shapes to suit your own goals.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSpecial Information & Preparation\n\nPre-Class Prep: Choose your yarn and bring it wound and ready to knit. If you’re stash busting and not sure about colour choices\, bring everything\, and you’ll learn a few tricks to help you make sense of a messy stash.\nYarn Suggestions: Fibrelya Sock Star matching gradient set\, Malabrigo Metamorphosis Collection Sock cake\, Koigu Paint Cans\, Sweet Georgia Sock Yarn Blank\nWhat’s Included in Registration:\n\nPattern: entrelac mittens pattern and technique handout by Amanda Schwabe\n\n\n\nRegister Here
