Description
AGF Creme De La Creme (PE-436) is a beautiful, classic off-white from the Art Gallery Fabrics’ Pure Solids collection, named for the French phrase meaning “the best of the best” and literally, “cream of the cream.”
Color Description
This color is a soft, traditional neutral that serves as an excellent background, border, or sashing color in quilts and garments. It is the perfect subtle step away from a stark white.
Hue: A light, creamy Off-White. It is a very pale yellow-based neutral, which gives it a distinct warmth compared to a bright or bleached white. Retailers classify it under the Cream & Off White category.
Tone/Value: It is an extremely light value color. It is often described as a “cool cream shade” and is noted to be lighter than AGF’s Sandstone color, placing it very close to pure white but with a definite creamy tint.
Aesthetic: Creme De La Creme is a sophisticated, versatile, and warm neutral. Its subtlety makes it an ideal blender that provides a gentle contrast to darker or more vibrant prints without overwhelming them. It is widely used as a “low-volume” or background fabric. The coordinating Aurifil thread is listed as 2311 Muslin, which is a light, natural, unbleached cotton color, confirming the fabric’s soft, neutral-with-a-hint-of-warmth profile.
