SUMMARY:Colourwork Christmas Stocking Class with Debbie Wilson of Sheeps Ahoy!
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to host a Fair Isle knitting workshop with Debbie Wilson\, owner of Sheeps Ahoy\, the online purveyor of genuine Shetland wool in Canada. Join us to learn how to knit classic stranded knitting motifs using two colours at once. You’ll learn techniques to manage multiple strands of yarn at a time\, keep tension even\, and catch floats. In class #2 on May 7th\, you’ll return to learn how to put in an afterthought heel to make your stocking complete. \nOur project will be Eli’s Christmas Stocking by Meg Swansen\, a timeless design from Schoolhouse Press. Deb will have kits of Jamieson & Smith 100% Shetland wool available to purchase for the class\, and the kits will include the pattern. \nKits are $62 plus tax. Purchase one here. \nDeb will also be here on Friday\, April 25th from 6-8 pm for a Jamieson & Smith trunk show. DESCRIPTION:Join us Friday\, April 25\, 2025\, from 6-8 pm for a special event! \nSheeps Ahoy is the online shop for Jamieson & Smith 100% Shetland wool in Canada. Debbie Wilson of Sheeps Ahoy carries the entire line — every colour! — of this stunning wool\, most commonly used in Fair Isle knitting projects. Join us to see some of her stock in person. \nSheeps Ahoy also offers knitting kits\, patterns\, and books. She carries classics from Schoolhouse Press (Meg Swansen and Elizabeth Zimmermann’s works)\, and many Shetland and Fair Isle patterns. And\, of course\, the perfect yarn with which to knit them. \nThe Trunk Show is a free event\, and all are welcome. \nWe hope you’ll also buy tickets to our Colourwork Christmas Stocking workshop with Debbie\, which takes place the next day (April 26th) from 1-4 pm. April 26th is Local Yarn Shop (LYS) Day\, and we’ll be celebrating it with a yarn sale and this lovely workshop to hone your knitting skills.
