The fabric collection featured in this quilt is designed by Valorie Wells\, and the blocks were designed by different quilt artists to show this collection in its best light. Join the Maker Savvy team each month as we create a new block in the quilt over a 10-month period. Debbie Wilson of Sheeps Ahoy carries the entire line — every colour! — of this stunning wool\, most commonly used in Fair Isle knitting projects. Join us to see some of her stock in person. \nSheeps Ahoy also offers knitting kits\, patterns\, and books. She carries classics from Schoolhouse Press (Meg Swansen and Elizabeth Zimmermann’s works)\, and many Shetland and Fair Isle patterns. And\, of course\, the perfect yarn with which to knit them. \nThe Trunk Show is a free event\, and all are welcome. \nWe hope you’ll also buy tickets to our Colourwork Christmas Stocking workshop with Debbie\, which takes place the next day (April 26th) from 1-4 pm. Or\, have you learned a few basic things but still feel like you don’t understand what you’re doing\, and you keep getting stuck?\n\nThis 6 session introduction to knitting will teach you all the essential first techniques you’ll need to build a strong foundation for many future knitting projects (once a week for six weeks). You’ll learn the basic knit and purl stitches\, and then we’ll build incrementally on those skills and knit a few common stitch patterns.\n\nDay 6 of 6\n\nEarly Afternoon Session: 2:00pm – 4:00pm\nEvening Session: 6:00pm – 8:00pm\n  \nWorsted Weight yarn and needles are included in this class. \nWhat you will learn\nThroughout the class\, you’ll learn how to recognize and fix common mistakes\, how to read a knitting pattern and simple chart\, how to start and end a project\, and even how to sew knitted pieces together invisibly.
